In 2021 together with a small group of other RAF Air Cadets I was lucky enough to secure a place on the Workplace Hazard Awareness course for Health & Safety. Although an entry level award together with my experience on yards and around airfields I was able to confidently complete the training and gain another qualification.
We were given an overview of the requirements for health & safety in the workplace, an awareness of not only ourselves but what to look for and what to do in the case of an issue. Since this training I have developed more of an overal awareness of the environment I am in and it was one of the many things that helped me to secure a sort after work experience placement at an airfield while I was still in year 10!

Other Health & Safety Training
In addition to my RAF Air Cadets Health & Safety training it was also a major section in my BHS training and stage 1 qualification. In addition to this I have also attended two ground schools for gliding and flying where we are taken through the vital safety requirements of being on an active airfield.
